Medical Aid Physiotherapy in Centurion

2 July 2026 · By Nhlamulo Khosa, BSc Physiotherapy (UCT)

Medical aid can feel like a foreign language. Here is a clear breakdown of how physiotherapy claims work in South Africa, and what to expect at the till after your session.

What most schemes actually cover

Most schemes cover physiotherapy from either day to day benefits, an above threshold benefit, or a specific chronic or PMB condition. Cover depends heavily on your plan and how much of your day to day benefit is still available.

How we submit claims

We submit claims electronically at the time of your visit at scheme rates. You are shown the outcome immediately so there are no surprises later.

When there is a shortfall

Some schemes pay below the recommended rate for physiotherapy. In those cases a small shortfall may be payable at the time. We show you the amount before you settle, and can offer EFT or card payment.

PMB and chronic conditions

Prescribed Minimum Benefits often cover post surgical, stroke and specific chronic conditions in full when the correct codes and pre authorisations are in place. Ask us to help you check before your first visit.

If you're in Centurion or Midrand and want personal guidance, our physiotherapist offers same day appointments in clinic in Eco Park, Centurion, or at your home.
